Department of Theology

School of Theology

The School of Theology had been the only faculty of the Ghana Christian University College from 1966 until 2006 when an additional School was added to it. It turned out its first eleven one-year certificate course graduates at its first graduation in June, 1967 and the first two B. A. degree graduates, Christian Patrick Adjei and Peter Owusu-Barfi, and six Diploma ones at the 4th graduation on 13th June, 1970.It was producing its own graduates from that date until 1997 when the College had to undergo institutional validation of the University of Wales, UK in 1997 (as a result of the Tertiary Education Act, 1993 Act 454). After the abrogation of the affiliation with University of Wales, UK in 2012/13, the Akrofi-Christaller Institute, Akropong-Akwapim took over the validation of the Theology programme with the South African Theological Seminary filling in a stop gap to graduate the 2013/14 graduates.
